The Flume Trail is on the short list of America’s finest mountain biking. The actual flume trail part is quite easy and flat, but the approach is a bit of an uphill trudge. I did it late in the year after the first snow came and mostly went. It was so cold, my hands were numb the entire day, even with gloves. But I had the entire trail to myself and clear weather for one spectacular ride.
